Despite the summertime activities that may be absent in this small town...

the 4th of July celebration was like no other. It started on Thursday night with a chicken rodeo (yes, kids got to lasso chickens) and softball games.

The next morning included a kids' tractor pull,

hula hooping,

(even Joshua gave it a shot...)
and gunny sack races.

I enjoyed racing the kids until the third race when I made a big jump and started to pee my pants. Enough for one day.
