Choosing to Downshift

So, now it is beginning. Mindy and I have been "talking" about downshifting, decluttering, simplifying or whatever you want to call it. It feels like living life like we were designed to live. We've been reading a few books that have inspired this internal movement that is now beginning to influence the way we live. Here are a couple of the titles.

The things that matter most by welch
Living Simply With Children by Sherlock
First you have to row a little boat by bode
Outdoor Insights by chapman

These books and our place in life are actually causing us to make some choices that are bringing some internal peace and internal joy.

What that means is that today we started packing stuff up and deciding to get rid of a bunch of our stuff on craigslist and our major moving sale on May 9&10 (shameless advertising). :)

Anyways, life is intended to be LIVED to the fullest! He never intended for us to speed from one event to the next hoping to enjoy the gap in between loading and unloading our families. Nor, is our life intended to be the pursuit and accumulation of stuff. Luke 12:15 "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

So, Downshift! On purpose. It's good.
